Privacy policy

Short version: no accounts, no search history, one technical cookie.

Last updated: October 18, 2026

What we process

  • What you search for. The username, link or search words you enter go to our server, which fetches the public TikTok data for it. Answers are kept in a short-term cache, from a few minutes to a few hours, so the next visitor gets them faster. The cache holds public TikTok data, not who asked for it.
  • Server logs. Like any website, our server records requests: IP address, browser, the page and the time. We use them to fix errors and stop abuse. Logs are deleted after 10 days.
  • Usage statistics. To keep the site within its limits with TikTok data, the server counts what each request cost, for example opening a profile or loading more videos. Instead of the IP address it keeps a code made from it that changes every day, so one visit can be followed within a day but not linked to the next. These records are deleted after 10 days.
  • Request counter. To keep bots from overloading the site, the server counts requests from each IP address over the last 10 minutes. The counter is cleared after that.
  • Feedback. If you send a message with the feedback button or by email, we receive the message and, only if you add it, your email address. We use them only to read and answer you.

We don't ask for your name, TikTok login or any account, and we don't sell data.

Cookies and browser storage

  • tp cookie. After the short security check, the server sets this cookie so the profiles you opened keep working without a new check for 30 minutes. It holds those usernames (or hashtags, songs and search words) and a signature, nothing else. It is required for the site to work.
  • Browser storage. Recently viewed profiles, bookmarks (the videos, songs, profiles, hashtags and searches you saved, with small copies of their pictures) and player settings (volume, speed, subtitles) are kept in your own browser. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Services we rely on

  • Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks, and its Turnstile check tells people from bots. Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical browser data for this. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
  • TikTok's servers. Videos and pictures load from TikTok's own servers, so they receive your IP address, as with any picture on the web. If they can't be reached from your network, the files come through our server instead.

Children

tik.observer is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. Since we keep almost nothing, the answer is usually short.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
